Founded and built the SCBFA. Former president of the University of South Carolina Bass Fishing Team, College Fishing National Champion, and two-time All-American; later a journalist and communications coordinator for B.A.S.S. Boating Industry Magazine “40 Under 40” (2022). Native of Gaffney, S.C.

Bob McAlister
Senior Advisor

Four decades in media and politics: chief of staff to Gov. Carroll Campbell, PR counsel to Sens. Strom Thurmond and Lindsey Graham, and founder of McAlister Communications. Fishes smallmouth on the Broad River.

Russ Tomlinson
Chairman (Sportsman Boats)

President of Sportsman Boats & Phenom Yachts, which he helped grow from 6 to 470 employees. Chaired SCBFA's Government Relations Committee for three years. Boating Industry “40 Under 40” (2024). Charleston, S.C.
